4th September 2024
Ireland’s leading ensemble for young musicians, the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland (NYOI) announces the appointment of Anna Rosa Mari to the role of General Manager. Prior to joining the NYOI, Anna was the Academic Director of OAcademy Music Conservatory from the Orchestra of the Americas Group, a global organisation, based in Washington USA, offering prime performance training to young professional musicians.
Anna brings over a decade of experience in arts education, management, and artistic leadership to her new role. She also brings a global network of high-level contacts that will be invaluable to the NYOI going forward as the organisation embarks on an ambitious new strategic direction with the support of public funders in the Arts Council and the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research and Science.
Born in Athens, Greece, and trained in the UK, Anna is also an award-winning flautist, who has worked with leading orchestras, including the BBC Philharmonic, The Hallé, Manchester Camerata, and Ulster Orchestra. During her time as a performer and music educator, Anna was a Flute Tutor at the University of Salford and held a flute position with the Greek National Opera.
