TechIreland Launches New Innovation Portal
31st May 2024
TechIreland launched their new Irish Ecosystem Portal powered by Dealroom at a cross-border networking reception held at Dublin Tech Summit.
The new portal gives comprehensive information about the tech ecosystem on the island and also provides access to Dealroom’s global network of more than 100 tech ecosystems from Canada to Australia.
The state-of-the-art platform will help TechIreland promote Irish startups among global investors and also provide access to international data for benchmarking our regions and industries with global counterparts. It also includes a unique Innovation Island Services Portal which will be free for users to access and free for services firms on the island to feature.
The recent reception, called Innovation Island Connect, is focused on enhancing cross-border business-to-business relations between the tech sectors in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Opening the event was Shane O’Hanlon, Funding for Growth Manager at InterTradeIreland, followed by the launch of the new all-island portal by Brian Caulfield, Chair of TechIreland.
Tech companies are a key part of our shared island economy; they create highly skilled employment, attract global talent and capital, and drive innovation.
These Connect events encourage cross-border collaboration, synergistic partnerships, trade and cooperation. The event was supported by InterTradeIreland, the agency that promotes cross-border trade on the island of Ireland.
A survey of participants at last year’s event revealed 650 ‘solid connections’ developed, with Irish and Northern Irish business executives networking to explore potential business opportunities.
TechIreland is organising the Connect events with the support of InterTradeIreland’s Synergy programme. Synergy is an InterTradeIreland initiative to elevate the participation of SMEs in innovative networks of entrepreneurs, academics, policy makers, corporates and third sector participants.
The aim is to scale cross-border collaboration to deliver mutual economic benefit on both sides of the border. Dublin Tech Summit is traditionally the largest tech conference on the island.
John O’Dea, TechIreland’s Chief Executive said: The Irish startup ecosystem is growing across the island – there are real opportunities for tech companies to build their operations on both sides of the border. These Innovation Island Connect events are great opportunities to build business relationships.
Brian Caulfield, Chair at TechIreland said:
The Irish Ecosystem Portal will help support the tech community across the island. This comprehensive database of companies, investors, and tech hubs will help connect the entire Irish tech ecosystem and reveal exciting new business opportunities.
Shane O’Hanlon, Funding for Growth Manager, InterTradeIreland said – “InterTradeIreland connects and helps businesses across the island to trade cross-border, collaborate, innovate and attract investment. We are optimistic about the growth potential of the tech ecosystem across the island and especially in seeing more businesses, particularly SMEs, benefit from cross-border collaboration.
TechIreland’s Innovation Island Services Portal will create even more opportunities for innovative start-ups to trade across this island and beyond.”
