Pushing the Boundaries of Technology

The Annual Technology Ireland Industry Awards took place last Friday (17 November 2023) in the Mansion House, Dublin with CWSI named the Digital Technology Company of the Year.

Marie Treacy, Assurance Partner with Platinum Awards sponsor EY Ireland, commented: “On behalf of EY Ireland, I want to congratulate the Digital Technology Company of the Year CWSI and all of this year’s Technology Ireland Award winners. The calibre of entrants this year was truly outstanding and the mix of winners from indigenous Irish-owned firms and FDI businesses speaks to the dynamism, diversity and depth of talent in the technology sector here in Ireland.”

Also heading to the stage to receive an award was Lorna Martyn, Fidelity Investments who was named Person of the Year at the Technology Ireland Awards Ceremony. As Ireland Regional Chair and Senior Vice President of Technology at Fidelity where she leads a team of 1,900 people, Lorna is also a recognised advocate for inclusion and diversity, and most particularly, greater female representation in technology.

Director of Technology Ireland, Una Fitzpatrick said: “Lorna epitomizes tech leadership and is a role model who is respected for her passion for technology, her courageous leadership and being an established diversity advocate within the sector.

Her unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion has not only impacted the existing technological landscape, but is paving the way for the future, leaving an indelible mark.”

Lorna joins a list of technology leaders, many of them continuing to evolve the industry and who are previous recipients of the ‘Person of the Year’ award including Geraldine Magnier (2022); Bill Kearney (2021) and Edel Creely (2020).

The Annual ceremony celebrated 11 outstanding winners in all. Additional winners at the black-tie event included: Klearcom, SpanishPoint Technologies, EpiSensor, Ardanis, AWS, iScoil, AIB Technology and Immersive Software Engineering from the University of Limerick.

This year’s awards ceremony was an inspiring showcase of innovation, resilience, and vision within the industry.
