Justyna Banasik first Head of Sustainability at Allianz Insurance

Allianz Insurance recently announced the appointment of Justyna Banasik as its first Head of Sustainability in Ireland. She brings more than 16 years of industry experience in portfolio underwriting and customer functions to the position. She assumed the role on November 1st, 2023.
In this dedicated role, Justyna Banasik will oversee the implementation of the Allianz sustainability strategy across all functions of the business with a particular focus on climate change and the environment. She will lead the development of decarbonisation roadmaps for Allianz Ireland’s insurance portfolios in addition to the company’s own operations and its investment portfolios.
As Head of Sustainability, Justyna will also be responsible for ensuring progress relative to targets and alignment with Allianz Group strategy. In 2022, Allianz undertook to accelerate its decarbonisation journey and now aims to become Net Zero in its operations by 2030, twenty years ahead of its original 2050 target. In line with this, Justyna will oversee the implementation of internal and regulatory sustainability reporting requirements.
