Securing Support from the National Challenge Fund

Caren Gallagher, from the Office of the Planning Regulator with Dr Lorraine D’Arcy and Dr Eoin McGillicuddy from TU Dublin, and Dr Ekaterina Nesterenko, Scientific Project Manager, Science Foundation Ireland. Drs D’Arcy and McGillicuddy are among 25 new teams announced recently by Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Simon Harris TD, who have secured funding under the National Challenge Fund; their project will examine the walkability and liveability of urban settings including the university campus and they will be supported by Ms Gallagher as a Societal Impact Champion.

The €65 million National Challenge Fund is part of the Government’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan and is funded through the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility. It is operationalised by Science Foundation Ireland. More details of all the teams funded can be found here>> www.sfi.ie
