Julie O’Neill – Chairperson of Permanent TSB

Further to the Bank’s announcement of the 17 January 2023, Julie O’Neill has taken up the position of Chairperson of Permanent TSB Group Holdings plc (Permanent TSB). Julie succeeds Robert Elliott who had previously announced his intention to retire from the Board at the end of March.

Commenting today (31.3.2023), Julie O’Neill said: ‘We are entering an exciting phase for Permanent TSB and following the transformational acquisition of certain elements of Ulster Bank’s Retail, SME and Asset Finance businesses, we are perfectly positioned to provide a welcome alternative for personal and business banking customers.  I look forward to working with the Board, Eamonn and the wider team to continue to drive the bank forward to future success and achieve our ambition of becoming Ireland’s best personal and small business bank. I also want to pay tribute to Robert Elliott for his deep commitment to Permanent TSB and his significant role in the progress that the bank has achieved during his term of office.’

Commenting on today’s announcement, Eamonn Crowley Permanent TSB CEO said ‘I would like to officially welcome our incoming Chairperson, Julie O’Neill, who will bring a depth of experience, corporate governance and leadership skills to the bank. Julie is an accomplished business leader and was Secretary General of both the Department of Transport and the Department of the Marine and Natural Resources.  She holds a number of prominent Non-Executive Director roles, including: Chairperson of the Convention Centre Dublin, XL Insurance Company SE, AXA Life Europe and Ryanair Group Plc._+
