Energia Group Continues to build on an Inclusive Company Culture
16th March 2023
Energia Group recently announced a partnership with Riley to provide free period care products to employees across all their offices.
Riley, a female founded Irish business, supplies eco-friendly period care products delivered directly to the customer. The award-winning products are made with 100% organic cotton and zero toxins, bleach or harmful chemicals, benefiting the user and the environment.
The partnership between the two organisations aligns to Energia Group’s commitment to provide a more inclusive working environment for women and will benefit approximately 500 employees. Energia Group will make Riley sustainable period products available to employees at their offices in Dublin, Belfast, Antrim and Omagh. This measure is one of a number being implemented by the Group’s as it focuses on gender related policies aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 8 on Decent Work & Economic Growth.
Speaking about the new partnership, Michele Hanley, HR Director, Energia Group said; “At Energia Group, we are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive workplace for all of our staff and this partnership with Riley is a very important milestone on this journey. We understand that access to period care products is a basic need for many of our employees, and we are pleased to be able to provide such support to staff.
We are delighted to partner with an indigenous and progressive Irish business that is making a difference to people, and we look forward to building on this partnership across the Energia Group in line with our broader sustainability ambitions.”
Speaking on the announcement of their partnership with Energia Group, Lauren Duggan of Riley said, “Whilst a period is perfectly natural just like going to the toilet, employees in the workplace are often not being offered period products. We are delighted to be partnering with Energia Group to change the status quo.
This is a true sign of a progressive business leading the way from within – one that values the health and wellbeing of all its employees, as well as the environment.”
Energia Group is building an inclusive company culture that leverages diversity and supports professional development opportunities for women. In 2021 the Group signed up to Business in the Community’s Elevate pledge and it launched the Women in Energy Network as part of the company’s broader Diversity and Inclusion programme. In 2022 the Group introduced two women’s health policies, Pregnancy Loss and Fertility Treatment and a Managers guidance document to support women through the Menopause forming part of the company’s broader strategy of supporting all employees through every life stage and fostering a culture of inclusion.
