Network Ireland Invites Applications
25th March 2022
Women’s business group Network Ireland is encouraging its members to apply for its prestigious awards ahead of the deadline on April 7th.
Network Ireland’s Businesswoman of the Year awards recognise the achievements of women who understand business, who are passionate about their career, and show a determination to succeed no matter what life throws at them.
Last year’s winners include a self-published children’s author from Co. Kildare. Emma-Jane Leeson is CEO of Johnny Magory, she said, “Winning the Creative Professional Business Woman of the Year Award in 2021 was and will always be one of the greatest highlights of my career. From a personal point of view, the confidence it gave me had the greatest impact. The publicity and PR from the event has meant so much from a business point of view for both my current suppliers and customers but also potentials in the future. I can’t recommend entering enough. The encouragement and learning from the entire process has been incredible.”
A social enterprise that inspires people to live and work more sustainably was also recognised. Tara Shine from Change by Degrees added, “Winning the Network Ireland Businesswoman of the Year Award in the STEM Category was such a boost to me personally and to our business, Change by Degrees, after such a tough few years for all businesses over the pandemic. Sustainability is now front of mind for many businesses in Ireland and we are delighted to be supporting them to take bold action to combat climate change and contribute to a better society for all.”
National President of Network Ireland Noreen McKenzie said, “Last year’s award winners have described the experience as incredible saying it opened opportunities both personally and professionally. It is wonderful to hear such positive feedback about how our members have benefited from publicity and how the awards helped them to set new goals. I hope that their comments will encourage even more women to believe in themselves and apply this year. The last two years were challenging which is why it is so important to celebrate all that our members have achieved as we look to the future.”
Preparation is continuing across 14 Network Ireland branches nationwide ahead of their local finals, from which winners will be selected to go forward to the national awards in Galway on Friday, October 7th. The gala event is a major highlight of the group’s calendar and will coincide with Network Ireland’s annual conference.
AIB is Network Ireland’s Official Partner, and Catherine Moroney, Head of Business Banking Market at AIB, said,
“The annual awards are a unique opportunity to showcase the very best of female entrepreneurship and leadership. Each year I am inspired by the calibre of the entries from businesswomen in Ireland. Their passion, creativity and dedication shines through and I am looking forward to seeing the 2022 applications.”
