Ambr Eyewear owners, Sacha Cahill and Dan Nugent, have secured a prime shopping unit, completely free of charge, in the newly refurbished Blackrock Village Centre in Blackrock, County Dublin.

The ‘readymade retail’ prize is courtesy of the ‘support local’ campaign, Champion Green, and Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland DAC.  The chairman of the judging panel was Duncan Graham, Managing Director of Retail Excellence.

Over 50 small business owners across Ireland entered the competition to have a rent-free retail outlet.

The online eyewear retailer impressed the judges with their range of fashionable glasses, designed to help protect from the damage of blue light, for those frequently using screens.  The excited SME owners are now preparing to stock the new retail outlet, which comes free for six months, including over the important festive shopping period.

Free parcel sending for one year within Ireland, and a free local direct-mail campaign from An Post Commerce, is also part of the coveted prize package to support online omni-channel retailing.  €15,000 in marketing supports will drive business for the lucky winners too, as Ambr Eyewear embarks on an enterprising adventure in retailing at Blackrock Village Centre.

The judging panel was joined by Irish retailing legend, Marian O’Gorman, Chairperson of Kilkenny Design and Champion Green founder.

Champion Green launched one year ago to provide business advice and marketing support to SMEs, and to highlight how consumers can make a difference in the recovery of small business.  It is supported by Kilkenny Design and VISA, in association with Retail Excellence, the Small Firms Association and Chambers of Commerce Ireland.
