With over 25 years industry experience, Caroline Bell opened her Cobh based salon – The Hair Salon – 6 years ago and it was a dream come true. As the industry has changed so much over the past few years, with a shift towards social media, Caroline decided to upskill with the help of her Local Enterprise Office and has since transformed her business with the addition of a thriving online haircare store.
“Clients have always been local. But this year having worked on our online presence we are now shipping our products all over Ireland and have attracted many new salon clients from further areas who have been seeking help with hair and scalp issues. I availed of mentoring and a Trading Online Voucher with the help of Local Enterprise Office South Cork which allowed me get my basic website up and running as a full e- commerce site. This has been the difference in whether I survived the closure or not. This year from January to now my turnover is better than in 2019 even though my doors have only been open 5 weeks of this year.”
