30% Club Ireland Launches its 2021 Executive Education Scholarship Programme
23rd March 2021
The 30% Club Ireland has launched its 2021 Executive Education Scholarship Programme in partnership with a number of Ireland’s top colleges and universities. The programme offers 28 scholarship opportunities to professional women across business, STEM, healthcare and public policy.
The 30% Club is a global campaign supported by Board Chairs and CEOs of medium and large organisations, committed to achieving better gender balance at leadership levels and throughout their organisation, for better business outcomes. Established in 2015, the Irish chapter is supported by the leaders of more than 270 leading Irish businesses and organisations across all business sectors, representing more than 600,000 employees. Enabling future women leaders through cross-company mentoring and executive education programmes is an important aspect of the Club’s ethos.
Now in its seventh year, the Executive Education Scholarship Programme has provided over 80 professional women in Ireland with scholarships to pursue executive education in their chosen field. The aim of the programme is to raise participation rates for women in, and general awareness of, executive education and to provide financial support for women interested in executive education, who may be limited by funding concerns.
Speaking at the launch of this year’s programme, Gillian Harford, Country Executive, 30% Club Ireland said: “The 30% Club Ireland is proud to be launching our Executive Education Scholarship Programme for its seventh consecutive year. Because of the support and generosity of higher-level institutions across Ireland, and our communications partners at PwC, the programme has provided over 80 professional women with scholarships to pursue executive education in their chosen field. We are proud of the accomplishment of all our alumni, and the vast impact they are making across the fields of Business, STEM and Healthcare. These women are influencing the drive to achieve better gender balance on boards, and within executive leadership.
“The next generation of scholarship recipients is about to make an empowering decision to expand their education. We look forward to welcoming them into the 30% Club network and we can’t wait to see what they achieve.”
