Rethink Ireland to Open Applications for the Social Enterprise Development Fund 2021

Rethink Ireland will officially open applications for their Social Enterprise Development Fund 2021 on Thursday, 21st January.
Social enterprises from across Ireland will be encouraged to apply for the fund. In 2021, the fund offers (up to) 16 Awardees cash grants and a place on Rethink Ireland’s Accelerator Programme.
In addition, the fund will offer the best social enterprise in each local authority where no social enterprise won a cash grant a place on their Genesis Programme.
The Social Enterprise Development Fund is a €3.2 million Fund being delivered from 2018 – 2022. The fund was created by Rethink Ireland in partnership with Local Authorities Ireland and funded by IPB Insurance and the Department of Rural and Community Development through the Dormant Accounts Fund.
Speaking in advance of the announcement, CEO of Rethink Ireland Deirdre Mortell, said: “We look forward to officially opening applications for the Rethink Ireland Social Enterprise Development Fund 2021. Ireland has a strong and proud social enterprise sector, throughout the Covid-19 pandemic we have seen social enterprises play a key role in supporting communities.
“Now more than ever, the role of Rethink Ireland in helping social enterprises to strengthen their impact is critically important. We have supported a diverse range of social enterprises from all over the country since the Social Enterprise Development Fund was introduced in 2018 and we look forward to working with more this year.”
