Top image consultant Maria Macklin, based outside Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan has won a prestigious Star Award at the recent international House of Colour annual awards. Maria also picked up the Marketer of the Year award for the fourth year in a row.

Maria won the award putting her in the top 7 consultants across the UK and Europe. She currently holds consultations, online and in a 1-2-1 setting, to help her clients across the region dress with confidence every day. “With my clients I discover and uncover their personal brand, empowering them to show up as their most authentic, comfortable selves, consistently. They gain permission to be themselves, they gain permission to look good and feel good every day, they gain permission to feel valued and to like themselves (often for the first time in their lives).”

By giving them lifelong tools, Maria enables them to look and feel the very best versions of themselves, making them visible for all the right reasons. Many of her clients gain promotions, achieve new jobs and make other life changes as a result of the guidance and tools which Maria provides.

“Winning this award means a lot to me, particularly in what has been the most difficult year for my business. It is incredible to be doing something that really transforms and empowers peoples’ lives. House of Colour has been in business since 1985, showing clients how to be visible, memorable and how to be themselves. We can all dress with confidence once we understand how to connect our inner personality with our outward persona. I love the variety of clients I work with and the transformations and confidence that results.”

Managing Director at House of Colour, Helen Venables says “I am so delighted that Maria’s expertise and hard work has been recognised. Her dedication has been second to none and her clients look and feel confident and sensational.”

Maria’s top style tip is to – buy less, buy better, choose well. “People are buying more clothes and wearing them less.  See the contents of your wardrobe as an investment with longevity in mind. Nothing should be living rent free in your wardrobe. Every item needs to earn its keep and give you the most value. Knowing what really suits you and seeing beyond fads and trends is an important step. Aim for timelessness.”
