NIWC on ‘Fearless Leadership’
2nd December 2019
Network Ireland West Cork (NIWC) hosted their November event which was entitled ‘Fearless Leadership’. Siobhan Sweeney of AIB and Deborah Somorin of Empower the Family & PWC spoke about the need of “bringing yourself to work” and how we must step up, resilient to be fearless leaders to grow.
Ciara Lucy, outgoing President of Network Ireland West Cork said “Being Fearless” was the Network Ireland West Cork motto for the year and was something she wanted to instil in all members throughout year to help them grow and develop their businesses and as a result bring more employment to West Cork.
“This was my last event as President, said Ciara. “I wanted to go out with a bang and really inspire our members to continue to dig deep, take that deep breath, believe in themselves and have the confidence to go for it. Sometimes women can doubt their capabilities and as result don’t put themselves forward. My mantra this year was get out of your comfort zone, do something that makes you uncomfortable and go for it! Sleeping out in Sherkin Island for the Homeless was my example of that. I look forward to seeing what 2020 brings under the Presidency of Carole Murphy. I have no doubt she will do an amazing job.”
