Stand Strong, Stand Tall: A Celebration of Women
5th March 2018
Over 200 women and men will gather to celebrate International Women’s Day on Thursday, March 8th, at The InterContinental Hotel in Dublin, with a major event being organised by Network Ireland, the organisation focused on the personal and professional development of women.
The theme of the event “Stand Strong, Stand Tall: A Celebration of Women” will feature a range of national speakers, discussing and celebrating women’s success in politics and the boardroom, women’s health, choices and women from the past and present. It will be held in aid of Dublin Rape Crisis Centre.
President of Network Ireland Roseann Heavey stated: “We wanted to talk about choice in a modern world. There is so much discussion about issues including choice, gender pay, diversity so we decided to bring them to the forefront for this year. Our theme for International Women’s Day is Stand Strong, Stand Tall – a chance for us to celebrate women standing strong in challenges, how resilient we all are and how by working together we can stand tall. Over lunch, our speakers will all speak to the theme of standing tall, recognise how we have choices, how to be more resilient. At the end of the day, we will all leave a little taller and a little stronger.”
The event, which is open to both men and women to attend will commence with a networking drinks reception, lunch in the Shrewsbury Suite followed by keynotes and discussion panels.
Keynote speakers include Senator Catherine Noone, Aine Kerr and Niamh Fitzpatrick and the MC for the event will be Clodagh Walsh of RTE Radio 1.
