Catherine Downes Wins with Usheru

Usheru, a tech company from Dublin has won the Dublin City Enterprise Award 2018. Usheru powers direct ticketing and marketing data insights for film distributors.

The company connects a film website to the existing point of sale systems of cinemas and allows a consumer to book tickets really simply. It connects film marketing to the box office and is creating a ‘direct-to-consumer future’ for film distributors. Usheru employs four people at its Dublin 7 base, with plans to employ seven more staff within the next 12 months.

The top prize of €5,000 was presented to Catherine Downes, Founder, Operational & Marketing lead of Usheru and they will now go forward to represent Local Enterprise Office Dublin City at the National Enterprise Awards, which celebrates its 20th anniversary on May 24th.

Greg Swift Head of Enterprise & Economic Development with Local Enterprise Office Dublin City said: “Usheru has already become a success story and the judges were particularly impressed by the expertise within the team, the passion and philosophy they apply to their business. Usheru are building a successful and sustainable business, while delivering customer service solutions for other businesses – cinemas, festivals and film distributors. They are already active in the Irish and UK markets and are currently exploring additional markets”.

As Local Enterprise Offices celebrate twenty years of the National Enterprise Awards in 2018, LEO Dublin City is proud to be represented by Usheru in this extra special year.”

Four other local businesses were also shortlisted this year, and they were Fifty Three Six Media a digital strategy agency for sport, Strata Project Solutions construction planning and scheduling services, Radii e-learning, mobile and social software creators and Clinishift app, connecting clinical staff and hospitals in real-time.
