ESB Celebrates World Day for Cultural Diversity
21st May 2017
ESB’s commitment towards a more consciously inclusive workplace continues, by celebrating diversity and creating an environment that supports all employees to fulfil their potential.
ESB International, its engineering consultancy subsidiary, hosted a special celebratory breakfast, which showcased the diversity within the organisation, and was attended by staff who hail from 36 countries around the world .
In December 2002, the UN General Assembly declared May 21 to be the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. ESB International is no stranger to the concept of cultural diversity, as it has successfully operated in over 120 countries across the globe, since its establishment in 1975.
Joyce Farrell, Human Resources Manager at ESB International, says: “Cultural interaction and awareness enriches our working lives, fosters innovation and creativity and makes sound business sense. ESB Group benefits hugely as an organisation of diversity, and ESB International in particular can draw on the range of skills and experiences to meet the needs of our clients around the globe. We are extremely proud to be home to so many employees from different parts of the globe. It is fitting that we take time out to celebrate this special day, intended for individuals and companies alike to deepen their understanding of the values of cultural diversity.”
