THEYA Healthcare, the award-winning Irish medical device company, has announced that it has been selected as an official supplier to the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK. The company designs and manufactures healthcare garments. The company’s flagship post-surgery lingerie range was designed primarily for use by breast cancer patients.

THEYA Healthcare’s post-surgery bras are now available via the NHS Supply Chain which provides patient-focused healthcare products and supply chain services to NHS hospitals in the UK. Already an established supplier to both hospitals and the retail sector in Ireland, THEYA Healthcare has made great strides into the UK market during the last year. This most recent announcement follows on from the launch last June of the company’s products into the UK retail market through the House of Fraser’s online store.

THEYA Healthcare, formally launched by Ciara Donlon in 2015, is headquartered at NovaUCD, the Centre for New Ventures and Entrepreneurs at University College Dublin, and is an Enterprise Ireland high potential start-up (HPSU) client company.

Founder and CEO Ciara Donlon said, “This is a huge step forward for us. We have had a very positive reaction to our post-surgery range from both patients and surgeons in Ireland and now to get this stamp of approval from the NHS in the UK gives us great confidence for the future.”

She added, “It was a big test for a start-up like THEYA Healthcare to meet the criteria required by the NHS to become an approved supplier. They expect nothing but the best in terms of quality, value for money and service. We are delighted that we proved up to the challenge and are looking forward to the new opportunities this appointment will present.”

THEYA Healthcare has also recently been awarded ISO 13485:2003 certification where an organisation needs to demonstrate its ability to provide medical devices and related services that consistently meet applicable customer requirements and regulatory requirements. The company has also been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification for quality management.
