Beats Medical Invited to Google Demo Day

Google for Entrepreneurs invited twelve female-led startups to pitch at its Demo Day this November in Silicon Valley.

The women are from around the world, and include Irish entrepreneur Ciara Clancy, Beats Medical, the only representative from Ireland. Other competitors hail from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, India, Kenya, Netherlands and the US.

In all Google received more than 800 applicants from over 65 countries, which is a true testament to the great companies women are building globally. The twelve companies will have their pitches live streamed on November 2nd.

Beats Medical provides Parkinson’s Treatment via the mobile phone to help improve the mobility, speech and dexterity symptoms of the condition. The company employs ten people and is based in Dublin.

Ciara Clancy, the CEO and Founder was shortlisted for the FEXCO WMB Woman In Technology Award 2016 and has said: “There are great opportunities for women in business today and it’s an exciting time to be building a business. Unfortunately there still are disparities in the business world but it’s important to recognise them and just keep going.”
