WellFest Returns This September
15th August 2016
Some of the world’s best-known health and fitness experts will descend on Dublin this September for WellFest 2016, Ireland’s only health, fitness and wellness festival.
One of the co-founders, Katie Ryan has completed a degree in Pharmacy and is starting her pre-registration year in Crumlin Children’s Hospital in September. “I have always been interested in fitness and nutrition. During my pharmacy experience over these past few years I have really gained an insight into the lack of awareness around the importance of these topics amongst the public especially in the community pharmacy setting in Ireland.”
Setting up WellFest was a natural progression for her. “Throughout my years in RCSI I have worked in a number of different jobs. For the first two years I gained experience in an events company called ‘Event Fuel’. This experience has most definitely helped in the development of my skills needed for the organisation of WellFest. My experience in both events and pharmacy and my passion for health and fitness as well as the collaboration of an excellent team has contributed to the development of WellFest.”
The line-up includes Juliet Murrell, founder of House of Voga, the London-based fitness school where classes are set to energetic 1980s aerobics beats and combine traditional yoga poses with “voguing”, a dance style originally popularised by Madonna. Also Kathryn Thomas, founder of Pure Results Bootcamp, will be a speaker.
