#FEMPOWER 16th January
#FEMPOWER is being organised by Independent Senator Katherine Zappone and is an opportunity for women of all ages and backgrounds to come together to help tackle the most important issues affecting women in Ireland today.
The purpose of #FEMPOWER is to inspire real, positive change for women in our communities. At the conference, guests will hear from some of Ireland’s most prominent female speakers on topics ranging from education, leadership, and childcare to body image, consent and the eighth amendment. It will also act as a space for discussion and engagement with the panellists and with one another.
The speaker line-up includes:
– Moninne Griffith, executive director of BeLonGTo and Chairperson of the NWCI, who was shortlisted for the Newstalk WMB Social Entrepreneur Award 2015
– Dil Wickremasinghe, broadcaster at Newstalk and co-founder of Insight Matters
– Rosaleen McDonagh, writer, performer, Traveller and Disability activist
Guests will be encouraged to share experiences and their thoughts on how we can move feminism forward in 2016. Informed by the insights of women from all spheres of life, #FEMPOWER seeks to offer new ideas, perspectives and solutions.
