Breege O’Donoghue Honoured At UCD Alumni Awards

UCD held its annual Business Alumni Awards on April 27th in the Four Seasons Hotel. This year’s honorees are Breege O’Donoghue, Primark and Gordon Hardie, MD of Food and Ingredients, Bunge Ltd.
Breege is currently Board Member & Group Director, Business Development & New Markets at Penneys / Primark. She graduated from UCD with a B.Commerce in 1972 and joined Penneys / Primark in 1979 as a HR executive, tasked with building the company’s HR department. Since then she has been involved in transforming the relatively small retailer into an international fashion brand with annual sales of £4.95 billion – enjoying No. 1 volume market share in Ireland, UK, Spain and Portugal.
The ‘Alumni of the Year’ award is the highest honour that UCD School of Business can bestow on a graduate. The awards commenced in 1991 and are presented to individuals demonstrating the ultimate in professional achievement in their chosen business arena.
