THE WRITE
STUFF
TERRY PRONE AND THE ART OF WRITING.
WORDS: NESSA O' MAHONY
Terry Prone has been at the forefront of
communications in Ireland for more than three decades. Training
as an Abbey actress in the 1960s, she moved into broadcasting before
going to work with former RTÉ colleague Bunny Carr in the
fledging media training company, Carr Communications. She has served
on various State Boards, including the Arts Council and the Independent
Radio and Television Commission.
A prolific author of fiction and
non-fiction, she has won awards for her short stories, published
novels and written several best-selling ‘how
to’ books. The most recent addition to her non-fiction stable
is This Business of Writing, a guide to writing and editing which
she has co-authored with Kieran Lyons of The Institute of Chartered
Accountants in Ireland.
