This year’s WMB Conference & Awards is being held in Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel on Monday 27th September, 2010. The theme for our fourth annual conference is ‘Believe In Change’. Barack Obama said, “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek”.
Our event is designed to recognise, inspire and reward female entrepreneurs and businesswomen alike. It gives each one of us an opportunity to reflect, connect and learn to change. You will have the chance to be inspired by our three speakers; each possess a wealth of knowledge and experience to share, have known change and
have made a difference in their particular arenas.
Taking to the stage is Julie Meyer CEO of Ariadne Capital; she enjoys the accolade of one of 'Wall Street Journal's Top 30 Most Influential Women In Europe.' Avivah Wittenberg-Cox CEO of 20-first. She wishes to see change in our business culture in order to help maximise growth potential. Avivah believes that to experience significant change at least 30 percent of the top leadership team must be female. Finally, Phillip Matthews who earlier this year took up his position of President of the National College of Ireland knows the importance of change. In Nelson Mandela's words: "Education is the most powerful weapon, which you can use to change the world."
There will also be a panel discussion to rouse debate on the day. Interaction is encouraged , with the topic of debate being 'Women and Finance'. This will be followed by a dedicated networking session(this year our one-hour network is sponsored by Aviva) to gain those all important business contacts.
After an enjoyable lunch, winners will be announced across our five Award categories. The event is a day time affair (9 - 4.30pm schedule) with plenty of opportunities to mingle and mix so be sure to bring those business cards.
Clear your diary on Monday 27th September and ‘become the change you want to see’.
