The theme for this our fifth annual Conference & Awards is: Success is what you make it! For many of us success may be reflected through monetary gain; for others it may represent change leadership. Media mogul Oprah Winfrey put an interesting slant on success when she proclaimed: “The key to realising a dream is to focus not on success but significance – and then even the small steps and little victories along your path will take on greater meaning”. It would appear that the route toward success is as important as the final destination reached.

For businesswomen and female entrepreneurs, the WMB Conference & Awards provides women with a unique and important platform from which to celebrate their business achievements in a networking environment. There are five awards this year and you can nominate someone you admire or self-nominate.

Taking to the stage this year is new UK Dragon and Founder of Pall-Ex, Hilary Devey. “Nothing is for nothing in life”, according to this straight talking, charismatic and highly successful entrepreneur. Also sharing the mic is well-known psychologist and writer, Dr. Maureen Gaffney. Her positive ‘can do’ approach will enable all of us to be the best we can as we attempt to maintain the right balance of positivity and negativity in our lives.

Our ViewPoint panel includes previous recipients of the coveted WMB Businesswoman of the Year Award. We are delighted to have Patricia Callan, Director Small Firms Association; Anne Dooley, Director of Winthrop Engineering; Cathriona Hallahan, MD Microsoft European Operations Centre and Jean van Sinderen-Law, Director of Development at University College Cork as part of our panel. Their expertise spans many disciplines as their success shows a world of possibilities.
