Kilkenny Shop is on the lookout for new design talent. The retailer is holding an Open Call this autumn in a bid to discover new Irish talent.

The event which is taking place at Dublin’s RDS on Thursday, October 12th, is part of the brand’s continued committment to support Irish.

Designers and craft makers working in fashion, accessories, textiles, jewellery, glassware, ceramics, pottery, fragrance and wellness, are invited to showcase and pitch their work to CEO Marian O’Gorman and Kilkenny’s Group’s buying department at the event.

The Group’s Head of Buying, Melissa O Gorman, said: “We are hoping to discover new talent to add to the rich mix of unique Irish products that we currently offer, including household names like Orla Kiely, Nicholas Mosse, Waterford Crystal, and Fee G.

Kilkenny has worked closely with the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCoI), to develop the initiative.

Successful applicants will participate in a mentoring and support programme from the Kilkenny buying team, and will receive expert advice and insights into the design and craft trade in Ireland, along with a full marketing and PR plan that will bring their brand to the next level.

Kilkenny Shop has 15 stores nationwide and a thriving online store.  For more visit here.
