Edel O’Leary Appointed Head of Communications and Marketing for Acuvest

Edel O’Leary has joined pensions and investment advisors, Acuvest, as head of communications and marketing.

Formerly head of marketing for Ulster Bank, O’Leary brings twenty years senior marketing and communications experience to the role.  She will be responsible for developing the Acuvest brand and bringing it to a wider market, as well as developing its communications service offering to its client base.

During her eleven years with Ulster Bank from 2004, O’Leary held various senior marketing, communications and branding positions and was responsible for all marketing activity across personal, small business and corporate banking.  As group head of brand and communications, she undertook a significant repositioning of Ulster Bank in 2009.

Her earlier career saw her head up marketing and communications for Esat Digifone from 1997 to 2002, during which she was responsible for the company’s rebranding to O2. The rebrand saw her shortlisted for Marketing Institute Marketer of the Year. She remained in O2 for a further two years as communications director where she was also a member of the executive management team. O’Leary is responsible for some of Ireland’s most loved ads of all time including Esat Digifone’s “Hi, it’s me the guy in the bar.”

She holds an MA in communications and marketing from Ulster University as well as an MA in Spanish and German from Trinity College Dublin.
